AI for Career Counselling: “A terrible idea”

I was going to write a Blog on why I don’t think AI is a good option for career counselling. But I thought I could be accused of self-interest. So I asked Google's AI model, Gemini, which analyses search queries and generates a summary based on relevant information from the web. Here below is what it provided. Food for thought!

• While AI can access and process vast amounts of information, it may lack the depth of knowledge and experience to guide individuals through complex career paths or offer nuanced advice on career transitions.

Potential for Manipulation and Deception

• AI's ability to generate convincing narratives raises ethical concerns about potential manipulation and deception, especially when dealing with vulnerable individuals seeking career guidance.
